Meet Steph Payne
Steph Payne is a Venezuelan-Canadian multidisciplinary artist, graphic designer, and creative director working across brand identity, illustration, and public art. Inspired by nature, culture and place, her work is characterized by vibrant colour and organic form, bridging commercial design and large-scale visual environments to help brands stand out and spaces feel more memorable.
Steph holds a BFA from Concordia University (2013) and a Graphic Design Certificate from Humber College (2016). Her career includes creating custom illustration, brand identity and murals for brands like Bank of Montreal and Shutterstock, as well as curatorial and art management for both private and public art sectors. She spent several years as the as in-house Graphic Designer and Illustrator for Woody Nelson Cannabis, where she helped shape the startup’s unique visual identity.
In 2019, Steph co-founded Mondo Forma, a Toronto-based public art production and art consulting studio. As Creative Director, she has led a wide range of projects—from immersive installations like The Funhouse with Universal Music Canada to community-engaged public art commissions with Sun Life and the Daniel’s Corporation. Her role often includes concept development, creative direction, and project coordination, working closely with clients, artists, and partners to bring bold ideas to life.
