Installation with overhead projection, fabric, paint, wood, yarn.
Found an old school overhead projector! I’ve been thinking about painting in a more 3 dimensional way. What if a painting could be a space we could walk into? With this project I used a found image, that I projected onto the wall and deconstructed the image using using shapes cut out of fabrics, as well as yarn, wood and paint. I was specifically interested in those moments where 2d and 3d meet, and wanted to create tension between the two. If I were to exhibit this I would want it to be an ongoing interactive installation that grows over time, where the viewer could manipulate the space and image by adding their own mark, or moving an object.
